Purple Dahlia Yoga

All Yoga classes inspire mindfulness and incorporate the therapeutic aspects of yoga. At Chapel Hill Bodyworks, you can expect a more intimate setting than a traditional studio. Yoga classes are customized to fit your body type and level. Expect to feel at home! Most of all mats and props are always provided, however you are welcome to bring your own if preferred.

6:30 – 7:35pm (Gentle Basics/Restorative)

Saturdays 

8:45 – 9:45am (Morning Yoga/Gentle Basics)

Yoga does more than burn calories and tone muscles. It’s a total mind-body workout that combines strengthening and stretching poses with deep breathing and meditation or relaxation.

Level 1

This class focuses on the basics of good alignment and breathing techniques. These classes are ideal for the beginner or for anyone who enjoys working on the fundamental aspects of the practice. We will flow from one movement to the next while taking time to break down the alignment of traditional yoga poses.

Level 1/2

This class focuses on the basics of good alignment and breathing techniques. These classes are ideal for the beginner or for anyone who enjoys working on the fundamental aspects of the practice. We will flow from one movement to the next while taking time to break down the alignment of traditional yoga poses. We will explore arm balances and basic inversions in Level 1/2, as well as pranayama (breathing) techniques and meditation.

Gentle Basics

This class is perfect for those with limited mobility or recovering from injury or surgery. This class provides a nurturing environment for you to relax deeply. Gentle poses and breathing techniques will be used in order to cultivate a deep state of healing. Chairs and props will also be incorporated into this class. Flowing from one pose to another will be introduced and both pranayama and meditation techniques will be offered.

Candlelight Vinyasa Flow

Candlelight Flow is a soothing twist on Vinyasa (linking breath with movement). A perfect way to end your day, this class utilizes simple sequencing, longer holds, and an emphasis on mindful transitions between poses. Mellow music and a candle lit studio bring the focus inward, and a longer restorative savasana at the end of class will leave your mind and body completely blissful! Candlelight Flow will help ease any tension from your day and relax you just in time for sleep. Suitable for all levels practice.

Restorative Yoga

In this class, students will hold traditional restorative yoga poses anywhere from five to ten minutes with the support of props. Restorative yoga soothes the nervous system, encourages mindfulness, and slows down the pace of life.

Reiki Restorative

In this 60 minute class, students will hold traditional restorative yoga poses anywhere from five to ten minutes with the support of props. Restorative yoga soothes the nervous system, encourages mindfulness, and slows down the pace of life. To deepen your experience of healing and relaxation, Reiki Therapy is incorporated into this class. Reiki is an ancient form of universal energetic healing that encourages a state of balance, harmony, and healing. Reiki Therapy works on all levels of physical, emotional and spiritual elements, to help reduce stress, anxiety and other ailments (this element of the class is optional). We will also explore various styles of meditation to enhance relaxation.
